What Are Tablets Mainly Being Used For?

Tablets have been designed in a way to allow users to use them for work activities, such as working from home or even using them in the office. A recent study found that only 20% of tablet owners actually used their tablet for business like activities.

The question is what do businesses actually find tablets useful for within the workplace?

Tablets are now being released which allow users to make phone calls on them. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 3 is the latest tablet which enables users to make phone calls. This may sway people to use their tablet for more business activities therefore as if they are able to make calls also then they may use it more in business than just for recreation.

Although isn’t this what FaceTime and Skype is used for? These functionalities are already being used on all tablets and can be used in business for conferences or online meetings. So, what do you think, is there any need for tablets to be able to make calls? Or is the use of Skype and FaceTime enough for business users?

So what are these tablets actually being used for?

Tablets are being found in living rooms more often than in offices these days, but some people are still unsure of what tablets should be used for. Tablet users said that although they have a smartphone which has internet access and many different applications, they still spend more time browsing the internet on their tablet rather than using their smartphone.
