Has internet access become more important than eating and sleeping?

Are you one of those people who check their Facebook or Twitter updates first thing in the morning, even before you have got out of bed? We can all agree that internet access plays an important role in our everyday lives but can it be more important than food or sleep?

Studies have shown that this is the case, and 50% of people are now dedicating more of their time to using the internet than they do eating or sleeping.

Think about it, how frustrated do you get when you lose internet connection? Do you get this frustrated when you do not eat on time or do not get enough sleep? I can guarantee your answer will be ‘No.’

Having Internet access is part of our everyday lives and being without internet will be difficult. We can survive without the internet in our homes or outside the workplace but many businesses solely depend on access to the internet to be able to undertake their day-to-day tasks and without it they will not be able to run their business efficiently.

A study has shown that the increased use of the internet also has a positive effect on some people. 51% of people said their friendships with others have improved because of the internet. This all comes down to social networking and communicating with individuals over the internet/ email.

Does having internet access affect your eating times and sleeping pattern?
