Facebook Phone Opinions are Mixed, What Do You Think?
Facebook have announced their latest service, ‘Facebook Home,’ this is a software package designed for Android phones which allows you to be more interactive with friends through your phone rather than clicking on the existing phone application.
The HTC First phone is the first device on the market which partnered up with Facebook allowing users to send Facebook messages, see recent Facebook feeds and allows users to see recently posted photos all from your lock screen.
Facebook decided they did not want to create a phone but they joined up with the HTC First and produced this software which changes your phones homepage to ‘Facebook Home.’ This new development is not a phone or a new tailored application but a software package which will change your phone into a Facebook device.
When the device is locked, you will receive a constant photo flow from your Facebook contacts and any recent status updates. You will also be able access Facebook contacts conversations whilst also using other applications.
This type of service will be more appealing to the most frequent Facebook users and may not be as popular with those users who only check their updates once a day. Therefore there are mixed views on this service as increasing numbers of people are using Twitter more than they use Facebook.
What is your opinion on this new service?
